How to Increase your Profits: Outsource and Automate

So last week on the blog we talked about getting your marketing plan sorted for 2017 (if you missed it – click here) so this week I wanted to talk about how you can leverage your time and make more money by outsourcing and automating!

To be able to increase your revenue and your profit you need to be able to leverage your time by either automating your business or outsourcing tasks.

 

Firstly let’s look at Automating!

Automating & systemising your business by creating templates, utilising different software and creates SOP’s will allow you to leverage your time and help you grow your business.

You need to look at what tasks you do on on a regular basis in your business, and write these down.  

It will most likely look something like this:

  • Client Emails
  • Welcome Kit
  • Invoicing / Contracts
  • Social Media
  • Bookkeeping
  • Delivering packages / services
  • Networking
  • Blogging
  • Videos

Out of these tasks what do you think you can systemise and automate?

Here is a start:

Welcome Packet, Invoicing and Contracts – can be systemised by creating templates and using a software to automate – 17 Hats can do this for you.

Social Media – you can use a scheduler like Hootsuite or Post Planner to schedule all your posts across all your platforms

Bookkeeping – you can use a system like Xero – connect to your bank so it can automatically reconcile your accounts.

Outsourcing!

Outsourcing and finding a team to support you in your business, is one of the fastest ways to grow. This will help you leverage your time, support more clients and make more profit. Take your time in finding the right support team for you!

You will now look at this same list of tasks your previously wrote for automating and see what you can outsource, here are my suggestions:

Client Emails – you can hire a Customer Service VA to handle your client emails

Social Media – don’t have time to write your content? Hire a social media manager or VA, they can write the content, design the images and schedule it all for you.

Bookkeeping – Hire  a bookkeeper

Delivering your packages / services – have a look at what you offer. Can you build a team to help you deliver your services? If you can, this will then allow you to leverage your time and serve more clients.

Blogging – hire a ghostwriter or a VA that will write your blogs for you. They will also be able to design your images and schedule.

Videos – even though you need to do physically do your videos, you can hire someone to edit them, upload and share them to social media. A video editor or VA will be able to help.

As you can see from this list, you don’t need to try to do everything in your business. As it grows it makes sense to automate and outsource what you can so you can then focus on growing your business and making more profit.
