Get your marketing plan sorted with these 4 steps!
So last week on the blog we talked about planning out an amazing 2017 (if you missed it – click here) so this week I wanted to talk about your marketing plan and how you CAN make 2017 even better than this year for you business.
I am going to walk you through 4 easy steps to work out your marketing plan.
Step 1 – What is your monthly revenue target?
Write this down.
How many packages or products do you need to sell?
Write this down.
- For example: A target of $10k/month
- You will need to sell 10 x $1k packages
- Or 20 x $500 packages
- Or 100 x $100 products
So if your goal is 10k per month and you need to sell 10 x $1k packages you need to convert 10 leads to get to this revenue.
10 doesn’t seem that hard right?! 🙂
Step 2 –Who is your ideal client?
You need to know who you are looking for, so you know where to find them.
Answer the following questions and create your ideal client avatar.
- Male / Female?
- Married? Kids?
- Education Level?
- Business Owner? What do they do?
- How long have they been in business?
- What is their turnover?
- What pain point do you solve?
- Where do they normally hang out?
By answering these questions it will give you a good understanding about your client and where you can find them.
Step 3 – Where are these potential leads / clients?
You need to test out different marketing channels to find the right mix for your business. It takes time, so don’t give up!! Here are places to start with:
- Local magazines
- Local Newspapers
- Flyer Drops
Depending on what your ideal client avatar looks like will depend on where you find them hanging out. If they are mums they most likely will be on Facebook or Instagram. Women in business – Facebook groups and LinkedIn. Do some research to find out where your tribe hang out. You need to go to them!
Step 4 – Work out marketing themes to help plant the seed of working with you!
Now that you have a good idea where your tribe is, how are you going to get their attention?
Grab a monthly planner / calendar and work out different themes you can focus on each week of the month.
- Week 1 – Technology in business – tips and tricks on how to use it
- Week 2 – Tips on Social Media
- Week 3 – Avoid mummy guilt & overwhelm
- Week 4 – Wrapping up the sale
Use these weeks to promote your freebie which is the entry point to your sales campaign.
Network – network – network – to grow a service based business it is about networking and meeting people, so don’t be afraid to get out & do it.
If you implement these 4 steps in your business, it will help you work towards your goals for 2017!
